The new regulatory process focuses on upstream design collaboration and coordination to minimise downstream potential reworks. This means more effort is expected to be provisioned for the upstream design coordination. Consolidating agency approval processes via CORENET X also reduces the time taken for project teams to liaise and respond to agencies individually.
Based on projects who have made submissions through CORENET X, approvals were obtained more expediently under CORENET X and there were no significant delays in project timelines.
To avoid delays to commencement of work, the new regulatory process also allows an optional Piling Gateway to allow projects to commence piling works ahead of obtaining the full clearance at Construction Gateway. This inclusion was made after considering the various suggestions from various stakeholders through various workshops and engagement sessions with the industry.
